Privacy Policy
SuSheff — Last updated: June 16, 2026
This policy is being updated for accuracy and is under legal review.
SuSheff ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what
information we collect when you use the SuSheff app and website, how we use it,
and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account information — name, email, and profile picture provided by your sign-in provider, such as Google, Apple, or email/password.
- Recipes you save — links you submit, recipe content, ingredients, instructions, photos, images, source URLs, attribution details, and any notes you add.
- Recipe processing data — source text, screenshots, extracted fields, generated recipe fields, review corrections, import status, and operational logs used to process and improve recipe imports.
- Assistant and chat content — questions you ask SuSheff, recipe context needed to answer, and saved assistant chats if you choose to save them.
- Voice input — if you use microphone or speech features, your spoken input may be transcribed into text so SuSheff can answer recipe questions.
- Bug reports and diagnostics — if you report a problem, we may collect your report text, expected result, page URL, browser/device details, viewport, timezone, recent client or network errors, and optional attachments you choose to upload.
- Usage and diagnostics information — basic operational and error diagnostics, collected through Sentry, such as which screens are used and when errors occur, used to keep the app working, fix crashes, and prevent abuse. We do not use advertising, marketing, or cross-site tracking analytics, and we do not use advertising identifiers.
How we use your data
- To provide recipe-saving, organization, extraction, translation, assistant, and sharing features.
- To process and display recipes you submit.
- To troubleshoot bugs, improve import quality, review failed imports, and prevent abuse.
- To maintain source attribution, moderation, audit, security, and legal-review records.
- To operate account, authentication, support, deletion, and recovery workflows.
Legal bases for processing
Where EU/UK data protection law applies, we process personal data on the bases below.
This mapping is provisional and under legal review.
- Account, login, saved recipes, and recipe extraction you request — performance of our service to you (contract).
- Security, abuse prevention, debugging, reliability, and error diagnostics (Sentry) — our legitimate interests in operating a secure, reliable service.
- Support requests — performance of our service and our legitimate interests.
- Cost, audit, and compliance records — legal obligation and/or legitimate interests (under legal review).
- AI processing — performance of our service when you request recipe extraction (under legal review).
- Optional marketing or non-essential tracking, if ever introduced — your consent.
AI and service providers
SuSheff uses the following service providers (subprocessors) to operate the app. Each
processes data only as needed to provide its service to SuSheff:
- Supabase — hosting, database, authentication, and storage.
- Vercel — web hosting.
- Google — sign-in, and Gemini and Imagen for AI recipe extraction and image generation.
- Apple — sign-in.
- OpenAI — audio transcription, visual recipe extraction, and image generation.
- Deepgram — audio transcription.
- Together AI — image generation.
- Sentry — error and operational diagnostics.
These providers may process submitted recipe content, source links, images, chat prompts,
and related context only as needed to operate SuSheff. This list may change as our service
evolves and is under ongoing review.
How we share your data
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers strictly
necessary to operate the app, improve reliability, provide AI-assisted features, process
support requests, or comply with law.
International data transfers
SuSheff is operated by Bamanio LLC in the United States. Your data is processed and stored
in the United States, and the service providers listed above also operate in the United States.
If you access SuSheff from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, your
personal data is transferred to the United States.
International transfer safeguards are under legal review. Where required, SuSheff will rely on
applicable transfer safeguards such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, Data
Privacy Framework participation where available, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
Photos, images, and attachments
Photos, recipe images, screenshots, generated images, and bug-report attachments may be stored
when needed to provide the app, show recipes, troubleshoot problems, or preserve review/audit
history. Some temporary processing artifacts may be deleted or retained for a limited time
depending on operational needs.
Account deletion
You can request deletion of your SuSheff account at any time. Two ways:
-
From inside the app — open Profile → Account Settings → Delete Account
and confirm. Your account is deactivated and your recipes are removed from normal user-facing views.
-
By email — if you no longer have access to the app, email
info@susheff.com from the address registered on
your account and we will process the deletion request.
When you request deletion, your account is deactivated and removed from user-facing views where
available. We are updating our deletion systems to support a grace-period hard purge; until that
work is complete, deletion requests may be processed through account deactivation, removal from
user-facing views where available, and manual or staged follow-up. Some records may be retained
after deletion only as needed for legal compliance, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution,
audit history, backups, or service reliability. This process is under legal review.
Data retention
Exact retention periods are under legal review. In general:
- Account, recipes, and uploads — kept while your account is active.
- On deletion — your account is deactivated and removed from user-facing views where available. We are updating our deletion systems to support a grace-period hard purge; until then, deletion may involve manual or staged follow-up.
- Backups, logs, audit, and cost records — retained only as needed for security, accounting, legal, abuse-prevention, and operational integrity; exact periods are under legal review.
- Identifying ledger snapshots — we are updating this process so identifying ledger snapshots are pseudonymized or anonymized during hard purge unless a lawful retention basis applies.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, including under privacy laws such as GDPR or CCPA/CPRA,
you may have the right to access, correct, export, delete, or limit certain uses of your
personal data. You may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, and
to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these rights,
contact info@susheff.com.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you also have
the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
Children
SuSheff is not directed to children under 13, or under 16 where applicable. We do not
knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data, including encrypted
transport where applicable. No system is perfectly secure, and you should avoid submitting
highly sensitive personal information in recipes, notes, chats, or bug reports.
